Leonard Hoogenboom and David Malukas boost Team Motopark

Two new talents will race for Team Motopark at the opener of the ADAC Formula 4 championship this weekend: while the Dutchman Leonard Hoogenboom will already be contesting his second season in the highly competitive junior series, the American David Malukas will compete in his rookie year with the support of the Oschersleben-based squad.

"We are delighted that we secured the services of these two promising talents," said team principle Timo Rumpfkeil.
"Leonard already showed during the test sessions last year that he has great potential.
"It was with us that he celebrated his first race victory in the Formula 4 UAE at the beginning of this year and I am pretty sure that this is going to be the tendency for the season.
"Now we want to establish him constantly in the top 8 of the championship and get him on the podium."
"Unfortunately, he has a small test backlog due to his school obligations. But we will catch up gradually, and then he is definitely someone who will fight for victories and good positions. "

17-year-old Leonard Hoogenboom had already joined Team Motopark in the Formula 4 championship of the United Arab Emirates. The Dutchman previously completed a season in the Italian Formula 4 and the ADAC Formula 4 last year.

David Malukas is 15 years old and is facing the challenge of ADAC Formula 4 for the first time. The driver from Chicago has proven his talent in kart racing. Now he wants to benefit from Team Motopark's both theoretical and practical coaching and training tools.

"We watched David during the Formula 4 races in the Emirates," said the Motopark boss. "There, he showed a lot of potential.
"We are sure that we will be a strong partner for him in his first season in the ADAC Formula 4, both in terms of sports and technology.
"2017 will certainly be a learning year for David since everything’s new to him - he doesn’t know the car or the tracks. And since the deal was signed quite late, he unfortunately has a test backlog at the moment. We're going to work on that now. Our goal is to establish David constantly in the top 10 and bring him eventually to the podium."

David Malukas and Leonard Hoogenboom complete Team Motopark’s Formula 4 line-up and join Jonathan Aberdein from South Africa and Belgian Charles Weerts. The first three races will take place on Saturday, April 29th (12 am and 3.45 pm) and Sunday, April 30th, (11.45 am) at the Motopark home Grand Prix, the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben.
